Integration
Philips Understands
In a cost-conscious, need-to-have-it-yesterday environment, you as an IT professional must strategically plan, manage, and implement the hospital network and enterprise. You must champion comprehensive and quality technology that improves clinical patient care while meeting the expectations of physicians and administrators.
Philips has engineered iSite, a breakthrough solution for fast, high-resolution image distribution that seamlessly integrates into your existing hospital network.
Philips serves you through a medium you're already comfortable with-the Internet and your current PC
Philips can support real-time images on a network connection as low as 1MB/second. Philips' iSite client browser application is an ActiveX plug-in. The iSyntax server runs on a standard NT (4.0/2000) server using standard TCP/IP network protocols. Both are designed to self-install and self-diagnose over the Internet for true zero maintenance.
Technology
Your PC Becomes a Virtual Viewing room
Philips' core technology, iSyntax, was licensed from the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center (UPMC), the country’s largest not-for-profit integrated health care system, in 1998. iSyntax™ is based on mathematical representations of images called wavelets.
iSyntax enables the on-demand delivery of image data which means that users perceive virtually instant access to as much imaging data as they require. Philips' iSyntax-enabled image distribution product, iSite, provides users the flexibility associated with a film-based approach together with numerous new capabilities that can only be provided in a digital world (e.g. linking images and supporting collaboration with other physicians across the network). Heartbeat Reliability
iSite is engineered with a proactive protocol and maintains a real time connection to Philips' Quality Engineering Center. Philips' Quality Engineering Center ensures mission critical reliability 24/7/365 by equipping the system with a Heartbeat - a proactive monitoring system that signals over 50 potential error conditions relating to network, disk, power supply, CPU failure, DICOM and connectivity. The system tests itself and e-mails are sent to Philips' Customer Care Center every 15 minutes to relay the results of the tests to ensure system is running optimally. If a problem does occur, we are notified immediately and address the problem.
